Kids’ Grand Prix

The GSK Run is the second event of the Kids’ Grand Prix series. This special program for elementary children provides prizes based on participation in designated LTC races in the 2016 racing season. Watch for future runs.

The Course

This challenging course is the perfect training run for those running the Lincoln National Guard Marathon and Half Marathon. Both races begin at Normal Boulevard near Van Dorn Street and wind through Holmes Park. The 10K route challenges you by winding through the park, taking you along Normal Boulevard where you turn south on Myrtle Street and wind your way to S 56th Street. At Prescott Avenue you turn around and make your way back to Holmes Park where you will cross the finish (but we aren’t going to tell you about the hill at the 5.75 mile mark). This is the only 2-mile fun run/walk on the LTC schedule and it features a course which is a loop-and-a-half along Normal, through Holmes Park and along 70th Street. The race also finishes in Holmes Park. The 2-mile run/walk is the second race in the Kids’ Grand Prix series.
