You’ve been training for weeks while the Lincoln Track Club and city of Lincoln have been preparing for the 39th running of the Lincoln National Guard Marathon and Half Marathon. This is the first in a series of four emails you will receive leading up to marathon weekend to answer your questions and help you prepare for your visit to the capital city.
CITY OF LINCOLN
Lincoln is not only the state capital of Nebraska but it is ranked in the Top 10 for Best Downtowns by Livability. We hope you will take in the sites and sounds Lincoln has to offer as it rolls out the red carpet for our marathon and half marathon participants. The Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau has a complete list of activities in Lincoln on marathon weekend.
The Lincoln National Guard Marathon and Half Marathon headquarters for race weekend will once again be the Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel at 333 S 13th Street. To reserve a room, call 402-474-7474. Visit the marathon website for a complete list of hotels and motels five miles or less from the start/finish line.
You have questions and we have answers. Please check the Frequently Asked Questions section for the most commonly asked questions posed to the race directors.
SWITCH FROM FULL TO HALF
Did you register for the full marathon but need to switch to the half marathon? Let us know! Fill out this online form so we can make the change in our database.
I AM UNABLE TO RUN
Let us know if you are not able to run the 2016 Lincoln National Guard Marathon and Half Marathon by completing this online form. Your bib will no longer be active and will not be tracked within the timing system once the form is submitted. Unfortunately, there is a no refund policy if you cannot run.
It takes several volunteers to run a race. If you know of someone who is not running but wants to be a part of the fun, we have a job for them. Complete the online form or contact Lu Wetzler, volunteer coordinator, if you can help.
DON’T FORGET THE KIDS!
The 29th annual KFRX Mayor’s Run sponsored by Sandhill’s Publishing will be run on Saturday, April 30 for kids in the 6th grade and under. The largest kids run in the region, there will be six heats running a loop around the iconic Nebraska State capitol building. Make it a family weekend of racing fun – onlineentry closes at 11:59 p.m. on April 21.
JOIN THE LTC, SUPPORT LINCOLNÂ
