Although June 3 was a hot and humid day, 750 people showed up to participate in the 39th Annual Havelock Charity Run! The 10k was won by Colin Morrissey in 32:33, followed closely by Nolan Zimmer, who finished with a time of 32:54. Nolan Border was our third-place finisher, completing the 6.2 miles in 33:27. On the women’s side, Katie Wetzstein brought home the gold with a time of 37:17, Kayte Partch finished second in 39:18, followed by Liz Woodruff in 39:35.
We saw some pretty impressive times in the 3K race too. Jay Welp and Peter Falcon battled for the top spot, with Jay earning the win in 8:33. Peter finished in 8:48, and our third-place finisher was Ross Lorber in 9:01. Your top three women were Maddie Ivy, Adriana Kammerer and Megan Paule. Their times were 9:51, 10:16, and 10:19, respectively.
A distinguishing feature of the Havelock Charity Run is your ability to run on a team to raise money for your favorite charity. This is made possible by our generous corporate sponsor, Pinnacle Bank. The bank makes a $75 donation for every team that beats their team, and a $50 donation for those team that don’t. This year’s event raised $3,725 for local charities. Please be sure to thank Pinnacle Bank on behalf of the Lincoln Track Club.
Plans are already underway to make next year’s event, the 40th annual Havelock Charity Run, our best event ever. Thanks for the support!
