Lincoln Track Club's 2021 Plans

As we get closer to the end of the year, the Lincoln Track Club is starting to get questions about its plans for the 2021 race season and the Lincoln Marathon and Half Marathon in particular.

The LTC continues to monitor ongoing conditions related to COVID-19, and this has included regular communications with local health authorities as we consider our options. Like so many things right now, there is uncertainty about how conditions may look in the spring. Because of this, we have not yet made a decision regarding the 2021 race season, and we likely won’t have a decision on the 2021 Lincoln Marathon and Half Marathon until the start of the new year.

There is a great deal of planning for these events, especially the Lincoln Marathon and Half Marathon, and the LTC board continues to meet regularly to discuss possible plans. The good news is we successfully held both the Lincoln Mile and the Buffalo Run in 2020, using socially distanced starts and mask wearing before and after the race to mitigate risk. We are hopeful this can serve as a blueprint for races in 2021.

Trust us when we say we want to see you doing LTC races next year. Our dedicated, all-volunteer board is made up of distance running and fitness enthusiasts. We love the sport and thrive on seeing our runners achieve their goals.

Please stay tuned for more information, and above all,  keep running and being active.
