Midwest America’s Largest Children’s Run
This year we support “Harvest of Books”.
This year the Lincoln Track Club, KFRX, and Sandhills Publishing team up to support “Harvest of Books”. On May 2nd we will contribute $1.00 of each Mayor’s Run entry to this fine local charity.
Contestants will enter the contest by submitting their design for the 2015 Mayor’s Run T-Shirt.
1st Prize: The winner will receive a GIANT bicycle, helmet, and bike lock from Cycle Works and their art will appear on the 2015 Mayor’s Run T-shirts. A special award will be presented to the winner by the Mayor before the run.
Additional Prizes: Runner Up awards will be presented to four additional contestants before the start of the run.
Format: All art must be submitted on an 8-1/2″ by 11″ sheet of white paper. Computer generated pictures are welcome, but must be original and not contain any “cut and paste” art.
Eligibility: All children in 6th grade and under.
Theme: This year the KFRX Mayor’s Run is donating to “Harvest of Book” and is promoting “Rock Your Run”.
Preference will be given to any art that emphasizes the theme, “Rock Your Run”.

Entries must be received by March 23rd at:

All entries must contain: Name – Age – School – Grade – Address – City – State – Zip – Phone
No purchase necessary. All entries become property of the KFRX Mayor’s Run. Entries will not be returned. Winners will be notified. Judging will be done by KFRX, Sandhills Publishing and the Lincoln Track Club.

Any 6th grader or younger child. No skaters or dogs allowed. Younger children may be accompanied by adults in heats 5 & 6. Parents, grandparents, older siblings, or an adult sponsor are welcome to enter on the family plan and accompany younger runners in heat 3, 4, 5, or 6 and receive a t-shirt. It is NOT necessary for adults to register to accompany a runner.
Following the run, many prizes, including 34 GIANT bicycles, helmet, and bike locks from Cycle Works, will be awarded on the north side of the Capitol. One bike will be given to the art contest winner. All runners will also receive many valuable coupons and each runner will receive a gift from Sandhill’s Publishing.
Schools will be divided into Division A (485 or more students), Division B (350 to 484 students), and Division C (349 students or less). Award plaques will be given in all 3 size divisions and award winners will be determined by the percentage of their student body that a school has enrolled. Every school of 100 or more that enrolls at least 10% of their student body will receive a plaque. Entries must be received by April 23rd to count in their school’s totals. Non-public schools who wish to compete in the contest for the first time must notify the race director by March 31st.
1st family member is regular price $6. If submitted together additional family members from the same household are $4.00 each. Family plan entries must be entered by Fri. April 17th. Each runner must enter online separately.
$6.00 if entered on or before Friday, April 17th.
$8.00 from April 18th to Thursday, April 23rd.
$10.00 entry (no t-shirt included) at the Cornhusker Hotel on Friday May 1, 3:00 until 6:00 pm.
No race day entries.

T-shirts are awarded to every runner who enters by Thursday, April 23rd. Be sure to mark your size on the entry form. Sizes run small so order accordingly. See the t-shirt designs from the previous 27 years.
Late Registration without a t-shirt may be obtained at the Cornhusker Hotel, Friday, May 1st from 3:00pm until 6:00pm. THERE ARE NO RACE DAY ENTRIES!
May 2nd, 2015 8:00 a.m. Heats will be run at intervals of approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

Note: Any child may run with a heat of older children if they need to finish the run early. If you need to walk and plan to take over 12 minutes we encourage you to wait until after the first two heats.
Additional Note: No roller skates, skate boards or dogs allowed.
In case of bad weather, listen to KFOR AM at 1240-AM or call their # at 402-466-1234 for cancellation notification.
Friday May 1, 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Cornhusker Hotel, at 333 S. 13th Street and on the south side of the Capitol on Saturday morning before the run.
Many schools may have runners packets to pass out during pre-race week at their school. Check with your PE teacher to be sure.
Limited parking is available in the parking lots south of the Capitol Building.
Good Runners, Better People seeks to help established runners to become better citizens and create a more welcoming running community. You are invited to donate your gently used running clothes and gear at all Lincoln Track Club races.

The KFRX Mayor’s Run is the third and largest event in the Pepsi Kids’ Grand Prix. This noncompetitive Lincoln Track Club program is sponsored by Pepsi Bottling Company. If this is your third event of the season, wait to pick up your prize at the the 4th event.
