LTC Receives the Trail Boss Award from the GPTN

Presented by Dena Noe, president of the Great Plains Trails Network, and Gary Bentrup, GPTN fundraising chair and part of the awards committeeThe GPTN Trail Blazer award is a very significant award given sparingly for outstanding contributions to the long-range development of trails. The recipient—an individual, organization, or corporation—could be nominated by an award committee but is approved by the Board of Directors.GPTN would like to thank the LTC for all that you have done for the trails and the community of Lincoln. From giving Lincoln competitive races that all started in 1975 with the Buffalo Run to giving back to the Lincoln community with hundreds of thousands of dollars going to schools and trails.Your organization was instrumental in helping us build the trails in Lincoln, and most recently making a one-of-a-kind upgrade to the Murdock Trail, bringing together a cement commuter trail with a limestone running trail could not have come to reality without the work of the LTC.We also want to say congratulations to this group on your success. And you’ve done it all as a totally volunteer group. That is something to be proud of. Thanks, from the bottom of our heart, for what you’ve done for Lincoln and for the trails.Glen Moss accepted the award on behalf of the LTC at the LTC board meeting on February 10.
